Demindoff Tureen (Pot à Oille Demidoff)
“This sumptuous tureen was first manufactured in 1817, as part of a set of 219 pieces commissioned by Count Demidoff. The original piece is presently exhibited at the Louvre Museum, in Paris.
This masterpiece has been designed to contain stew or soups and was very fashionable in the 17th and 18th centuries. It was gradually replaced using the classic soup tureen style.
Richly decorated with ornaments characteristic of the Empire style, such as vines, palm leaves and foliage, this masterpiece decorates your table, offering splendor and wonderment to your guests.” -Maison Odiot, Paris
