The "Hofburg" service was created by Lobmeyr for the Imperial Court of Vienna in 1835. The service is on view in the palace as part of the Imperial Collection and is still used for official state receptions. Hand-cut and polished, massive and extravagantin style, it remains one of the greatest royal crystal services ever produced.

By 1890, the holdings for receptions for up to 400 people were increased. This service is still used today at special receptions for the Federal President.
