Traditional Shetland Wool Crew Neck Sweater
Traditional Shetland Wool Crew Neck Sweater
The Lanam Shop
An essential in any wardrobe, our men's Shetland Wool crew neck sweater is knit in Scotland with yarn from a two-hundred-year-old Scottish spinner. Wool is carded, dyed with natural materials, and mixed with other colors to give the “unique Shetland” color variation. Significantly warmer than regular wool, Shetland Wool jumpers are tough enough to brave the coldest Scottish day, yet breathable enough for daily use. This is a traditional unbrushed sweater.

Manufacturing Process
Diligent attention to detail is evident throughout the 30-step crafting process. The individual sweater panels are knitted on century-old machines, hand-linked, feature hand-sewn & handknit finishings, and are washed using the soft waters of The River Teviot—affording the finished knits a lustrous and soft finish. With a commitment to uncompromising quality, sustainability, and enduring value our knitwear pieces reflect 150 years of manufacturing prowess.

Crafted in Hawick, Scotland

Spun in Aberdeenshire, in northeast Scotland, our yarns use a mix of lambswool from the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand. Softer than most, our version offers the same look and warmth while being softer.

Authentic Scottish Yarn
Produced by one of the last woollen mills still in Scotland, the process of carding, dying, and mixing has gone largely unchanged since the Industrial Revolution. Since 1798, J. C. Rennie has produced exceptional wool yarns.
I ordered this in crimson for my husband after a looong search for a red wool sweater, crewneck, in his size (XL Tall). Delighted with this find. Quality, reasonably priced, swift shipping. Thank you!
