Hollow Handle Pieces
Hollow handle is a term used to describe a standard method of flatware construction. These pieces have a silverplate handle with an interior portion where a shafted piece is cemented secure — most knives and some large serving pieces use this construction method. Typically, the upper portion of the piece is made using 18/10 stainless steel or hardened steel if it is a knife blade.

Shipping Policy Summary:
Free (2-6 day) ground shipping to the United States over $150. Flat Rate Shipping: $7.95 under $150 to the USA, $55 to Canada (DDP), and $75 to all other locations (DAP). For International shipments only: DDP (Delivery Duties Paid; no additional taxes should be due on delivery) and DAP (Delivery at Place; additional taxes, duties, and fees may be due subject to local laws). We cannot determine in advance duties for countries we ship to on a DAP basis. DDP to Canada is for orders with a pre-tax & shipping total of $400 USD.

Makers of the finest ‘Silber’ since 1874, Robbe and Berking is a thriving precious metals producer. Under the larger umbrella of the ‘Robbe and Berking’ name, the Company has three main components: a precious metals design and manufacturing house, a precious metals commodities investment division, and a celebrated yacht yard where new boats are outfitted and old ones restored. The designs of Robbe and Berking are based on classic originals, often with a modern twist. Their sterling silver and silverplate is regarded as some of the finest in the world. Characterized as “massive” plating, the silverplate standards of Robbe and Berking are the highest in the world. Plated to 150g (60 microns) the remarkably thick plating applied by the silversmiths at Robbe and Berking has a global patent. With most fine French silverplate between 90-120g, Robbe and Berking has them beat. The added silver coating increases the longevity of the piece and their patented application process further extends the life of the silver coating—perhaps that is why the decades-old Robbe and Berking silver service at Claridge’s in London still gleams beautifully.
