A true Scottish classic, our women's Shetland Wool cardigan is a tried-and-true favorite. An essential in any wardrobe our this Shetland sweater is knit using yarns from a two-hundred-year-old spinner. The Shetland lambswool is carded by antique machines, dyed with natural materials, and mixed with wools of varying shades to achieve the “unique Shetland” color variation. The cardigan panels are individually knit in Scotland and handlinked to form the finished Shetland jumper. Significantly warmer than regular wool, Shetland Wool is tough enough to brave the coldest Scottish day, yet breathable enough for a regular fall day. This is a traditional unbrushed sweater.

    Spun in Aberdeenshire, in northeast Scotland, our yarns use a mix of lambswool from the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand. Softer than most, our version offers the same look and warmth while being softer.

    Produced by one of the last woollen mills still in Scotland, the process of carding, dying, and mixing has gone largely unchanged since the Industrial Revolution. Since 1798, J. C. Rennie has produced exceptional wool yarns.
