Schneiders Salzburg TildaWhen you are looking to add a new luxury item to your wardrobe, you look for the best brands the world has to offer. Schneiders Salzburg certainly fits that bill. Ever since the family first began its business in Austria, they have worked to clothe men and women in timeless styles with the best materials while using state-of-the-art manufacturing methods. Schneiders Salzburg has focused on bringing quality clothing to the market since day one.

In mid-1946, Schneiders Salzburg began manufacturing coats that were durable and weather resistant. Founder Julius Schneider. along with thirty-five employees, were eager to forget the hardships of WWII and focus on creating a great product. By the next year, the company was repurposing textiles from military surplus. Its catalog grew to offer additional outerwear, such as raincoats and jackets, but also aprons, slippers, and backpacks. Schneiders Salzburg was beginning to establish its reputation in the market, and in 1951 more consumers learned of its presence when its Dirtl Trench was unveiled. Motorsport contender Fritz Dirtl promoted the new product: a waterproof trench coat. It was fashionable and high quality. It was the go-to coat for a day at the racetrack or an afternoon in the city. Clearly, Schneiders Salzburg was making a name for itself, and the business was growing. To meet an increasing demand, construction began on a new headquarters, warehouse, and production plant.

Halfway through the 1950s, Schneiders Salzburg employed 150 employees and new hire, Alfons Schneider. Schneiders' Delphin raincoat was selling strong, and, in time, Schneiders would later buy out competitor Noperti. Men and women also wanted coats in Schneiders' chic styles. Trending fabrics were made from wool, loden, and gabardine. Schneiders Salzburg was building its brand in the right direction. When the company attended the International Men's Fashion Week held in Cologne in 1970, they stood out.

The 1970s market continued to grow for Schneiders Salzburg. It was not just a brand for older adults, but now younger adults wanted the new line from the company: Filou et Kiki. The midi-long wipp bells were en vogue, but Schneiders Salzburg still excelled in their outerwear. Two years after launching Filou et Kiki, Schneiders Salzburg proudly clothed the Austrian Olympic team for the games held at Innsbruck. This was only the first of many times the company would outfit its country's top athletes for the Olympics.

Schneiders' success continued because of its commitment to quality and designers' flare. Customers loved the brand for its comfort and timelessness. More potential unleashed in the early ‘90s with the introduction of Gore-Tex. It was a perfect material for the outerwear embraced by Schneiders since the company's founding. To showcase what it could do with the new material, Schneiders outfitted a group on an expedition in Africa. The clothing was a hit with the group, and even actor Arnold Schwarzenegger began touting the brand.

Throughout the last two decades, Schneiders Salzburg has maintained its status. Under the leadership of managing director Wolfgang Binder, the company continues to elevate itself above the competition by embracing new technologies and adjusting to changes in the market. Schneiders Salzburg takes from what it has learned in the past and uses that knowledge to bring only the best to market.
